John Corigliano’s “Ghosts of Versailles” Scores with TOKY
Yo-Yo Ma called him “one of our great American composers.” Sir Georg Solti called him “one of the most gifted composers of his generation in America”. We call John Corigliano a client and collaborator.
In 2009, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis staged the first performance of John Corigliano’s opera “The Ghosts of Versailles” since the Met and Lyric Opera had produced it in the 90’s. TOKY designed the season poster and art for the production.
Last year, we got a query from Corigliano, who said that he loved the Opera Theatre imagery, and wondered if we would be interested in adapting it for cover of the first ever complete score of the work. After getting off of the floor, I stammered “yes, of course!” and off we went. He was wonderful to work with. We made a few modifications to our original artwork (he wanted to bring out the humor a bit more), and were rewarded last week with our own copies of the final piece. Get yours on Amazon!
