New Work: Opera Theatre’s 2012 Season

For more than a half-decade, TOKY has had the pleasure of creating the identities and season posters for each new Opera Theatre of Saint Louis performance. We’ve been especially pleased when what our team creates gains national exposure for both parties, as happened with The Ghosts of Versailles (composer John Corigliano used our design for his complete score) and The Golden Ticket (our design was picked up by The Atlanta Opera).

Opera Theatre has announced its 2012 Festival Season, and with it come TOKY’s designs for the season’s shows:

Carmen, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis

Georges Bizet’s Carmen, 1875

Sweeney Todd, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis

Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Sweeney Todd, 1979

Così fan tutte, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Lorenzo Da Ponte’s Così fan tutte, 1790

Alice in Wonderland, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis

Unsuk Chin and David Henry Hwang’s Alice in Wonderland, 2007 (American premiere!)

Opera Theatre’s new season kicks off in May, which will be here before we all know it. Perhaps we’ll see you — with a picnic dinner and chilled bottle of Torrontés — before one of the shows.
