George Warren Brown School of Social Work
Brand Positioning, Messaging, Identity, Collateral Materials, Web Site (external and intranet)
As one of the leading schools of social work in the world, The George Warren Brown School had never focused on marketing or branding... until admissions dipped and competitive pressures made them realize the time was right.
TOKY was selected as the Branding company to guide The Brown School through a top-to-bottom rebranding. Our work began with perception research of the various stakeholders, creation of a new identity system, printed view books and admissions materials, an insightful news and issues magazine, and led to a totally reimagined Web site.
Now messages are consistent and compelling from one medium to the next, and their brand image is distinct and memorable.
TOKY worked closely with Brown School's in-house technical staff to define parameters for the new site, and surveyed all competitive sites to make certain that the Brown School site would be best-of-class.
TOKY developed a site that staff and faculty can easily update without technical knowledge of the Web. RSS feeds keep subscribers alert and news feeds fresh. Flash is used sparingly, and only where it can deliver the most bang for the buck: on the home page with a series of key messages and testimonials.
TOKY's award-winning in-house photographer, Geoff Story, shot the warm and personable portraits on location at the school.
